Sourced from the Kennedy Vineyard in Heathcote, Victoria, this wine was handpicked on 25 March 2021 at 13 baume.
Made with 10% whole bunch and minimal intervention to let the fruit and site shine, it was matured for 12 months in new Hungarian oak barriques and bottle aged for a further seven months. The time in oak has added texture, aroma and structure, with the potential to age for more than five years.
“Hand picked, 10% whole bunches, 12 months in seasoned French oak. This is a distinctive wine if ever there was one - in a good way. It smells and tastes of iodine and graphite, though there are also rust-like inflections to the core of redcurrant and black cherry fruit. It's complex but it's cohesive, not in your face about it. Medium in weight but draws you right in. It's worth seeking out.” - Campbell Mattinson, Halliday Wine Companion
